Here’s a few pictures of the 3YØI DXpedition Team “enjoying” themselves in cold water rescue training completed on November 22.

Dom (3Z9DX) as Military Search and Rescue Instructor provided rescue training with the 3YØI Team in Cape Town, South Africa yesterday. The 3YØI Team spent 6 hours training in 11°C (52°F) water using different zodiac boats and practicing how to launch zodiacs from the shore line. Training also included how to swiftly load and unload cargo and how to survive in case of a zodiac “incident”. The class also taught cold weather human survival techniques.

Other Special Operations, Water, Rescue, Recovery and Survival classes are expected to be completed on Monday, November 26th.
